Giving and Following Directions – No Prep Directional Language Activities

Help your students build confidence with directional language through these engaging, low-prep maze and grid activities! Featuring adorable farm, dinosaur, and cat themes, students will practise giving and following step-by-step directions (up, down, left, right) while colouring a path or plotting coordinates to reveal a hidden object.

What's included:

• 4 differentiated "avoid the obstacle" maze pages (cow & pond, students & school, dinosaur & volcano, cat & wool) in two grid sizes (3x4 and 6x8) for easy differentiation
• 2 blank template grids (3x4 and 6x8) so you can create your own directions
• A blank numbered list template for writing custom instructions
• 6 "follow the directions" grid activities where students track movements to discover a mystery object (corn, fish toy, backpack, grass, wool toy, pencil)
• Full answer key included

Perfect for: Teaching and consolidating directional language, sequencing instructions, and spatial reasoning in a way that feels like play, not work. Great for early finishers, math rotations, or a fun Friday afternoon activity.
