Build the foundations of reading and spelling (step by step.)
The Let’s Learn Phonics Sounds to Words Toolkit | Levels 1–4 is a structured phonics resource designed to help adults confidently support early reading and spelling.
Rather than simply providing flashcards or word lists, the toolkit shows you what to teach, how to teach it, what to say, what to notice and what to try when a child gets stuck.
Children progress through four foundation levels:
Level 1: Getting Ready
Develop awareness of sounds in spoken words.
Level 2: Crack the Code
Connect spoken sounds with written letters.
Level 3: Build Words
Blend sounds to read and segment words to spell.
Level 4: Grow Your Words
Read and spell words containing consonant blends.
The toolkit also includes a comprehensive parent guide, reusable sound cards with teaching prompts, progressive word banks, word-building activities, word chains, sentence strips, controlled mini-texts, troubleshooting support and guidance for deciding what to teach next.
A consistent six-step teaching routine:
Hear it. Say it. Map it. Write it. Read it. Use it.
The predictable routine helps children connect spoken language, written letters, reading and spelling while giving the adult a clear teaching structure to follow.
The toolkit can be used for learning at home, homeschooling, early literacy support, targeted intervention, revision, or one-to-one teaching.
No specialist phonics knowledge is required.
