If you’ve ever finished modelling gluestick use, practised it together… and then still crossed your fingers and hoped for the best — this one’s for you.
I created this Gluestick Certification Freebie because my learners needed clear visuals, and I needed a way to introduce (or re-introduce) glue stick expectations with a bit more joy — not just another reminder.
This resource gives you a simple, positive way to explicitly teach glue stick routines while building independence and motivation in your early years classroom.
What’s included:
-
2 Versions
- Glitter version (for when you’re ready)
-
No-mess version (because Week 1 glitter is a choice)
-
Teacher guide explaining how I use both versions in the classroom
-
Print & go — just add glue (and MAYBE glitter)
How teachers use this:
- Introducing gluestick expectations at the start of the year
- Re-teaching routines when things start to slip
- Supporting student independence in F–2
- Adding motivation and celebration to early routine teaching
- Back to school or reset moments
Why it works:
Young learners thrive on clear expectations and visual cues. Turning glue stick use into a positive, achievable goal helps students understand what success looks like and gives you a shared, hands on, memorable experience to refer back to all year... and if you're brave enough for glitter, you could even hang it as a poster to refer back to.
It’s simple, practical, and adds a little bit of fun to a routine we teach again and again.
