Information and worksheets with facts, questions, cut/paste/sorts, diagrams and labelling and more - no prep or prior research necessary! All explained in a really easy to understand way for children.
There are two pages full of information and content for students to read through. These pages are visually appealing for children with fun clipart and easy to read fonts.
The following content is explained over these pages:
- What actually are volcanos?
- How are they formed?
- What are the earths 'plates'?
- Why do they erupt?
- Do they all erupt?
- What do they look like?
- What was the biggest volcano eruption?
There are then two pages of comprehension questions asking the reader to refer back to the texts to find information and take notes in their own words. This helps them to really go through the information to gain an understanding of what they are reading, helping them to transfer this knowledge into their long term memory - rather than just reading it once and being done with it!
There is then a quiz worksheet with specific questions about volcanos, all of the answers to which can be found in the first two information based worksheet pages.
There is a cut and paste sorting activity where students sort facts about volcanos into a table. There are two simple columns - true and not true. All of the true facts will be found within the initial two pages, no need to do more research to cover anything on any of the worksheets included!
A diagram of a volcano with the basic parts labelled clearly is also included. This is great to print out and have students colour in to refer back to or display in the classroom, and it helps them to then do their own diagram for another worksheet included where students are given prompting and reminders to include labels.
The last worksheet provides a template for students to record key details and facts about volcanos as a summary of their learning. Your students will love this packet as much as you will - save valuable time, just print and have everything for your lessons ready to go.
