Year 11 Legal Studies – Unit 3: Changing the Law (NSW 2025 Syllabus) | Complete Unit
$61 · Single-teacher licence
Two powerful case studies. Done for you.
I’m a Legal Studies teacher in NSW, and I wrote this unit for my own Year 11 class in 2027. Law reform can be tricky to teach well. This unit gives you a clear framework and two case studies that students really care about. You save the planning time and get your weekends back.
Changing the Law runs for about 25 indicative hours. Students learn the reasons, drivers, processes and outcomes of law reform, then apply them to two case studies:
-
Land rights in NSW and native title: Mabo, Wik, Yorta Yorta and Timber Creek.
-
The criminalisation of coercive control in NSW, using BOCSAR data on the new offence.
What’s inside
