Year 11 Legal Studies – Unit 4: Experiences with the Law (NSW 2025 Syllabus) | Complete Unit + Preliminary Exam
$74 · Single-teacher licence
Finish the year strong, with the exam already written.
I’m a Legal Studies teacher in NSW, and this is how I’m finishing the year with my own Year 11 class in 2027. The unit is fully resourced, and it comes with a complete Preliminary exam. That’s one less thing to write in a busy Term 3, and a few more weekends back.
Experiences with the Law runs for about 30 indicative hours across two case studies:
-
Young people: doli incapax and RP v The Queen, the age of criminal responsibility, the Children’s Court, diversion, the Youth Koori Court and justice reinvestment at Bourke.
- People living in rural, regional or remote Australia.
What’s inside
-
Notes decks (50+ slides): three topic decks plus a combined unit deck. Student copies have gaps to fill in and are safe to post on your class site. Completed copies include every answer and teaching notes.
-

-
Handouts students keep all year:
- a key-terms glossary
- the 11-criteria evaluation card
- a plain-English command-terms sheet
-
Quick checks: two summary tests with keys, and a 32-question Kahoot and Blooket quiz bank.
-
Year 11 Preliminary examination (HSC-style format), covering all four focus areas: notification, exam paper, marking guidelines and sample responses.
