I started sending this calendar home to families before the school year even began... and I’ll never stop.
Because it works.
This Back to School Visual Countdown Calendar is a simple, practical tool designed to help children feel calm, confident, and prepared for the transition back to school.
When children are bursting with excitement (and often a few nerves!) about a new school year, this resource gives families an easy way to talk about what’s coming. It creates predictability, supports routine-building, and helps children mentally prepare (without pressure or overwhelm).
This calendar is especially powerful for neurodiverse students, who often benefit from clear, visual information and predictable timelines. Seeing the countdown to school helps reduce anxiety and supports smoother transitions.
Used at home, this resource strengthens the home–school connection and supports children to arrive at school feeling safe, settled, and ready to learn.
