The last weeks of term are a lot. This booklet gives you weeks of real English and maths lessons, and students mark their own work.
Students become Santa’s Travel Elf and fly to 12 countries to discover how Christmas is celebrated around the world. At each stop, they read, write and solve maths problems, crack a boarding pass to find their next destination, and collect clues to solve the mystery: who ate Santa’s cookies?
It’s not busy work. Every stop practises Year 3–4 skills from the Australian Curriculum:
- Reading comprehension with true or false and think-about-it questions
- Word work, including word upgrades, prefixes and suffixes, homophones, similes, nouns and verbs, syllables and rhyme
- Writing stories, a diary entry, a postcard, a retell and a comic
- Addition, subtraction, money and place value
- Multiplication and division with arrays, times tables and equal groups
- Fractions, time, calendars, symmetry, measurement, patterns, 2D shapes and graphs
Inside the 99-page booklet:
