Which year levels is this suitable for? Designed for Prep and Year 1. Also works well for Year 2 students who need extra support with segmenting and phoneme awareness, or as an intervention tool in small groups and one-on-one sessions.
How can I use these CVC sound boxes in my classroom? Laminate and pop into literacy rotation boxes, reading group tubs or morning centre tubs. They also work during small group instruction with a teacher aide, in homework folders or on a clipboard for 1:1 review. Students slowly stretch the word, say each sound and slide a counter or block into each box. They then slide their finger under the boxes and blend the word together.
