Are you teaching Latin roots? Do you want to build your students understanding of morphology and how words work? These word sum task cards show how words are built around high frequency Latin roots and affixes. Use them to give your students practice identifying morphemes in multisyllabic words.
The set contains printable 24 task cards which ask students to read multisyllabic words and identify the morphemes in the word. They write the word sums for each word showing the combination of prefixes + base + suffixes. For an additional challenge students can write the meaning of each morpheme to build an understanding of the meaning of the word. The final activity on each card, asks students to add another morpheme to a word.
Best suited to students in years 4, 5 and 6 who have already had morphology instruction in identifying morphemes and writing word sums.
