This tabbed language features flap book (also available as a digital interactive notebook) supports students’ understanding of persuasive language devices by explicitly exploring each persuasive technique, its purpose, and examples of how it is used within writing. Students can revisit the organised, hands-on reference tool throughout the writing process to confidently apply persuasive devices in their own writing.
Students create a tabbed flap book or use the digital, hyperlinked version to explore key persuasive language features. For each feature, students define it, outline its purpose, write examples, and apply it in their own writing. This supports a deeper understanding of how language devices are used in context and helps students transfer this knowledge into their own opinion and persuasive writing.
