The toolkit supports children to move between concrete, visual and written representations so that place value concepts make sense before they are expected to work abstractly.
Inside the toolkit, children explore place value through visual representations, building and partitioning numbers, comparing representations, recognising the value of digits, and connecting their understanding to written numbers.
The resources can be used flexibly for learning at home, homeschooling, targeted maths support, intervention, revision, or one-to-one and small-group learning.
