Handing out ten frames, then number lines, then counters for each student, and now you've got 3 new behaviours to deal with and there's counters being flung across the desk... sound familiar?
I was SO sick of trying to hand out multiple individual resources every time we moved into a hands on maths lesson. What I wanted was one grab-and-go kit that I could hand out to each student, that could grow with them across the year, and that I could use flexibly to support whoever needed it. So I made it.
The Set and Go Maths Toolkit is a DIY kit of essential Foundation maths mats designed to fit neatly inside Kmart Craft Storage Boxes (or a similar task box or clear pencil case). Everything has a home, and the box itself becomes a place to add your favourite manipulatives like counters, dice, unifix cubes and base 10.
The colour-coded borders are what make it work. Orange is 5-based, green is 10-based, purple is 20-based, teal is 2-way partitioning and pink is 3-way partitioning. You can simply say "grab the green side" or "use the purple number line", and students know exactly which resource you mean. This was a game changer for me.
