Wings Teacher-Led Bundle: Four Writing Units (Years 7 to 9)
Four no-prep writing units for Years 7 to 9: narrative, persuasive, informative and analytical writing, 12 lessons each, all taught from one screen. Students write in their books, most lessons follow the same rhythm, and each unit's Lesson Guide has a page for every lesson, so it also suits relief days.
Put a unit on your projector, TV or interactive whiteboard and press the right arrow. Runs in a browser. Nothing to install, no account, no student devices, and it works offline.
WHICH EDITION DO I NEED?
- Teacher-Led Editions (this bundle: all four): 12 lessons per unit that you run from one screen. Students write in their books. No student devices, no logins, no prep. Each unit has a Lesson Guide and an optional student booklet.
- Student Game Editions: each student works on their own device, with six skill bays, a capstone and a teacher console. Choose them if your class has laptops or tablets.
- Emberwick: The Lantern Archive, Teacher-Led Edition (Years 7 to 9), narrative only: 12 lessons plus a bonus lesson, set in a painted harbour town, with voiced characters and music, a printed Keeper's Journal, three levels in every lesson and Relief Lesson Cards. Choose it if you want a story world to carry your narrative unit.

- Informative Writing: precise terms, structure, definitions, explaining processes and flow, building to a full explanatory report
- Analytical Writing: techniques, quotations, PEEL and TEEL paragraphs, depth of analysis and evidence from texts, images and film, building to a full analytical essay on a real text ("Ozymandias", the opening of The War of the Worlds, or Scott's last diary entry, all printed in the Cadet Logbook)
HOW A LESSON RUNS
Most lessons follow the same rhythm, so once your class knows one unit they know them all: learning intention, a story beat, a timed warm-up, explicit teaching, a modelled example the class predicts move by move, a shared draft on the live board, independent writing against the timer with support and stretch, then success criteria and an exit ticket. The planning and final writing lessons at the end of each unit leave some steps out.
Lessons run 39 to 56 minutes, and each Lesson Guide shows the time for each step and the total for each lesson. In the six skill bay lessons of each unit you choose Cadet, Officer or Commander level for the class.
The story carries across every unit. Your class are cadets whose ship has crash-landed, and each lesson moves the mission forward.
EASY TO RUN
